Mumbai: Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by nine wickets in Women’s Cricket League. Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 156 runs set by RCB in 14.2 overs with the loss of just one wicket. This is Mumbai’s second straight win. Smriti Mandana and her team also suffered a second defeat in a row.
Hayley Mathews scored 77 runs off 38 balls including 13 fours and a six and Nat Sciver scored 55 runs off 29 balls for Mumbai to win easily. Mumbai Indians only lost the wicket of Yastika Bhatia who scored 23 runs off 19 balls.
RCB, who batted first in the match, reached a slightly improved score following the early collapse thanks to the excellence of Richa Ghosh who scored 28 runs and Shreyanka Patil who scored 23 runs. Captain Smriti Mandana was dismissed for 23 off 17 balls while Ellis Perry was dismissed for 13 off seven balls.
Hayley Mathews took three wickets while Saika Ishaq and Amelia Kerr took two wickets each for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians’ next match is once morest Delhi Capitals on March 9. RCB’s next match is once morest Gujarat Giants on March 8.
