Demonstration of March 09: town halls not informed within 72 hours of the march

Less than 3 days before the peaceful demonstration scheduled for Thursday, March 9, the organizations have still not sent letters to the municipal authorities concerned.

The municipalities of Matoto, Matam and Kaloum are the main ones concerned by the march, the route of which starts from the Tannerie roundregarding to the esplanade of the People’s Palace via Madina.

On Monday morning, the coordinator of the Guinean Social Forces Forum told our editorial team that all the organizers had made all the arrangements for the deposit of letters at the level of the town halls.

Reached by telephone, the communal authorities of Matoto and Kaloum indicated that they had not received any mail concerning the demonstration of March 9.

Article 622 of the Penal Code provides that: “The declaration, presented in written form, is addressed to the mayors of urban or rural communes, 3 clear days at least and 15 clear days at most before the date set by the organizers. Within 24 hours of receipt of the declaration, the authority informs the supervisory authority, following having previously issued a receipt to the declarant”.
