During broadcasts of AEW Revolution 2023 through Fite TV and B/R Live, the fighter Maxwell Jacob Friedman managed to retain the All Elite Wrestling World Championship following defeating Bryan Danielson in a 60-minute Iron Man Match by 4 to 3.
This was the main matchup of the All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view in San Francisco, California. The first thirty-five minutes were very close, with both men battling to get the first knockdown. After exchanging Clotheslines, The American Dragon managed to connect the Psycho Knee that gave him the first point for a count of three.
MJF gave Bryan a second disqualification knockdown with a low blow, but allowed himself to score two pinfalls in a row to even the score. With 25 minutes to go and both men exhausted, Maxwell took a top-rope vault into his opponent at a table. The champion finished off with a Tombstone Piledriver to take the third fall with twenty minutes to go. Danielson recovered ground with a Psycho Knee followed by the Lock to the neck to put the tie back.
The action began to accelerate with five minutes on the scoreboard. Bryan went for the Boston Crab, but Friedman called the surrender following the end of the count. Tony Khan ordered one last drop to sudden death to define a definitive winner. After resisting a neck lock, MJF sneakily attacked with an oxygen tube to apply the LeBell Lock and cause Danielson to surrender.
Thus, MJF retains the AEW World Championship for the second time in his reign. “The Salt of the Earth” earned this title 104 days ago at the Full Gear 2022 pay-per-view. Maxwell Jacob Friedman defeated Jon Moxley on the night of November 19 in Newark, New Jersey for his first singles title within All Elite Wrestling.
