The trial once morest a 52-year-old man for rape resulting in death, abuse of a defenseless person and aggravated robbery will continue at the Vienna Regional Court on Monday. After the accused had fired his previous legal representative at the end of January, it is now up to defense attorney Astrid Wagner. If everything goes according to plan, there might be a verdict. A few witness statements and the reports of the medical examiner and a psychiatrist are still outstanding.
In the central point of the indictment, the 52-year-old is accused of forcibly forcing a 43-year-old man to tolerate cohabitation in his apartment in Vienna-Penzing on the night of October 1, 2021 and ultimately killing him by administered an overdose of liquid ecstasy intravenously. The 13-times convicted man has so far pleaded “not guilty”. It was not until 6:00 a.m. that he realized the man was dead following they had consensual chemsex. However, the public prosecutor believes they can prove that the victim was injected with liquid ecstasy and mephedrone (a synthetic substance from the cathinone group of substances) in the left arm with intent to rape. The body of the 43-year-old was only discovered more than three weeks later in the defendant’s apartment. The 52-year-old had wrapped the dead man in garbage bags and stowed it in a bedding drawer.
