State Duma Deputy Vitaly Milonov has prepared an appeal to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a proposal to discuss the possibility of canceling Fan ID. The document is planned to be sent to the government in the coming days, reports March 5 TASS.
“I ask you to consider the possibility of canceling the Fan ID system at least until the sharp contradictions and gaps that arose during its implementation are resolved,” the document says.
According to Milonov, the problem is being actively discussed in the sports community. The mechanism at least did not justify itself, the deputy notes. He receives complaints that “the system has literally depopulated domestic stadiums” and leaves football clubs and match organizers without income.
“Due to the difficulties in obtaining this document, frank legislative contradictions and technical gaps, it can be stated that Fan ID is more likely to be a brake and an obstacle to the development of mass spectator sports than a tool to help ensure security,” the deputy points out.
He asks Mishustin to instruct the Ministry of Sports to “consult with domestic football clubs and the Russian fan community to develop mechanisms and steps to eliminate shortcomings and errors in the Fan ID system.”
Recall that fans of almost all clubs in the Russian Premier League, including Zenit, refused to issue a Fan ID, which is now needed to go to football.
