NOTTINGHAM, England (Archyde.com) – Brennan Johnson scored twice as Nottingham Forest twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at struggling Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
Demarai Gray gave Everton the lead with a penalty kick following Jonjo Shelvey fouled Dwight McNeil, before Johnson scored his first goal following goalkeeper Jordan Pickford put the ball in his path.
Abdoulaye Doucoure scored his first goal in 18 months as Everton regained the lead just before the half-hour mark thanks to a header, only for Johnson to equalize with a superb strike into the top corner near the end.
Everton remained in third place from the bottom of the standings, with 22 points from 26 matches, and played more matches than its competitors to escape from relegation. Forest ranks 14th with 26 points from 25 games.
