“Comrade Hernán Díaz Jiménez died a few days ago, and his funerals took place on August 2 in Santiago.
The comrade was imprisoned in the Enap Camps, Cerro Manantiales, Cerro Sombrero, Pudeto Regiment, Cochrane Regiment, Colón 636 and in the Dawson Island Concentration Camp.
He was exonerated as a politician from the National Oil Company (ENAP) and was a leader of the oil workers, president of the Unitary Central of Workers (Cut) of Magallanes, president of Tacopa, of the Multigremial de Magallanes, leader of Cabildos Populares during the civic-military dictatorship.
He actively participated in the “Puntarenazo” that mobilized the people and the social and political organizations of Magallanes, he was a leader of the organization of those exonerated from Enap, and president of its Neighborhood Council, as well as an active, loyal and committed militant of the Party Communist.
