Fossils from a shark site in Bavaria are surprisingly modern – paleontology

Sharks are considered living fossils that developed into perfect hunters early on and have hardly changed over millions of years. They first appeared regarding 400 million years ago, survived five major mass extinctions and can now be considered one of the most successful species in the history of the earth.
