[Mingpao News]Following the resumption of short-distance services to Shenzhen and Guangzhou on January 15, the Hong Kong Section of the High-speed Rail will resume long-distance services next Saturday (11th). Waiting for 14 stations to sell tickets next Tuesday (7th), there will be 6 pairs of long-distance buses every day, and short-distance buses will work overtime, increasing from the current 38.5 pairs to 45 pairs, returning nearly 70% of the 66 pairs before the new crown epidemic. In the second phase, other inter-provincial long-distance stations will be fully restored on April 1, including Beijing West and Shanghai Hongqiao. Details will be announced later. This newspaper searched the high-speed rail fare table in July 2019 before the epidemic, and found that the fares of the 14 reopened stations all increased, ranging from 2 to 37 Hong Kong dollars, and the fare increase in Shantou was the highest. The MTR stated that since the national high-speed rail has adjusted the fare of long-distance trains, the long-distance trains that re-enter the service also need to adopt new fares.
