Carinthia election 23: election marathon finish of the SPÖ Carinthia and Peter Kaiser

Sucher: Peter Kaiser is a social democrat from head to toe – but he would never put the good of the party above the good of Carinthia

Klagenfurt – With the start on January 21, 2023, the SPÖ Carinthia started an election marathon with top candidate LH Peter Kaiser, which ended successfully yesterday, Friday. In 42 days, 42 kilometers of the election marathon were symbolically covered in Carinthia, always with him – LH Peter Kaiser, who crossed the finish line yesterday at the cathedral square in Klagenfurt together with the candidates for the state elections. To the applause of around 400 supporters, friends and members of the SPÖ Kärnten, Kaiser thanked him for the cohesion, passion and discipline with which this electoral movement was carried out. An SPÖ Carinthian election movement that has proven: sustainable, economical and content-related instead of emotional election is not only possible, but also desired by the Carinthian population.

“We have set ourselves the goal of leading an electoral movement that focuses on providing Carinthians with a concrete offer of content and people for the next 5 years of government responsibility in Carinthia. We don’t play along with the usual games of rushing around and pumping up emotions. We haven’t used large-format posters since 2013, we recycle the material for our current election campaign and above all: LH Peter Kaiser sets completely new and different standards in his type of discussion and commitment,” summarizes SPÖ Carinthia regional manager Andreas Sucher.

Of course there were the foreseeable provocations, says Sucher – but 10 years as Governor Kaiser in Carinthia has left unmistakable traces in the political discussion. The people of Carinthia now have enough experience and know what distinguishes real politics from show – and nobody feels the need to turn politics into an event anymore. “The record of 10 years of SPÖ government work in Carinthia – through all the crises – is excellent, even the political competitors had to grudgingly acknowledge that in various public discussions. Is there room for improvement? Of course, always – anything else would be naive, especially in times like ours. This is exactly why our country needs someone at the top who speaks to everyone, listens to every opinion and acts pragmatically and objectively – and not partisanally. Peter Kaiser is a social democrat, from head to toe – but he would never put the good of the party above the good of Carinthia – the Carinthians know that too,” says Sucher – also with reference to the broad and diverse spectrum of supporters* inside by Peter Kaiser. They are people who are not involved in politics, who are not involved in any party, but appreciate Peter Kaiser’s political style and personality and want to see him confirmed as Governor of Carinthia.

“It was a tough marathon – everyone is – but it was a nice run. Driven by commitment and cohesion, by joy and pride with a top candidate who was a role model for all of us in every minute of the election movement. The SPÖ Carinthia is a strong and reliable team – thank you for this commitment – I am firmly convinced that this commitment will also be recognized benevolently by the people of Carinthia,” says Sucher.
