It is no secret that the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) is the richest board in the world. Crores are paid to the players under contract every year. Also, players are earning lakhs for every match played and match fee.
Grade A plus category players are paid 7 crores annually. BCCI is paying Rs 5 crore to Grade A category and Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore to Grade B and C category respectively. Prizes including Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament will also receive separate cash prizes.
But you will be surprised to know how much each Indian player earns by playing a Test match. A player gets Rs 15 lakh as match fee in Test. There are four Test matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia. With the completion of the series, each player will get only Rs 60 lakh as match fee.
Earlier, it was Rs.7 lakh. The amount was doubled in October 2016. Each player is paid Rs 6 lakh as match fee in ODIs. Three lakhs in T20. If the player plays 10 Test matches in a year, the amount earned by playing 50 Twenty20 matches will be paid as match fee.
