After a year of war, a demonstration of solidarity with Ukraine is planned for this Saturday in Bern. The rally demands support for the Ukrainian people, effective sanctions and an active Swiss peace policy.

The demonstration, whose slogan is “Stand with Ukraine”, is supported by an inter-party alliance bringing together in particular the Socialists, the Greens and the Green-Liberals, trade unions, aid organizations as well as several Ukrainian associations in Switzerland. . Its start is scheduled for 2 p.m. next to Bern station.

The procession will end on the Place Fédérale. Several national councilors are due to speak: Christa Markwalder (PLR / BE), Tiana Angelina Moser (PLV / ZH) and Nathalie Imboden (Greens / VS), as well as Cédric Wermuth (PS / AG).

The Movement for Socialism (MPS) also supports the national demonstration. However, he emphasizes distancing himself from the bourgeois participants in the parade and calls for the formation of an “anti-capitalist and internationalist bloc”.
