The national vaccination campaign once morest coronavirus disease will be launched this Monday, March 06, 2023 at the Maison des Ainés. The information was given last Friday, during a press conference at the premises of the Ministry of Health and Social Development.
Mali launched its COVID19 vaccination on March 31, 2021. Thus, as of December 31, 2022, a total of 2,777,674 people have been completely vaccinated on national territory for targets over 12 years old. Despite this progress, it must be recognized that this number is below the objectives set. To protect the population, the health authorities have decided to continue vaccination once morest COVD19 by organizing 7 campaigns during 2023. The objective is to reduce morbidity and mortality attributable to the coronavirus disease.
According to keynote speaker Dr Ibrahima Diarra, it is planned to vaccinate 4,882,835 people by December 2023 for 7 rounds. In relation to this, he says, it is important to remember vaccination strategies “We were confronted with the departure of our campaign due to rumors which spread everywhere which impacted relatively so well that we were weakened at the At the start, we sharpened our weapons to see all the possible communication strategies, vaccination strategies and also resource mobilization strategies. This is why we said to ourselves that in addition to the classic strategies which are 3 in number, namely fixed, advanced and mobile, we must provide innovative strategies to be able to reach the more than 4 million people using the social networks of communication, the strategies of opportunities that is to say, all political religious manifestations, we are going to post vaccination teams…”.
For Dr Nouminatou, President of the Order of Physicians, the key to the success of this campaign is communication, community dialogue and community engagement.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, Souleymane Traoré, for his part, urged the population to mobilize to get vaccinated once morest the coronavirus.
It should be noted that since the appearance of the first case of coronavirus disease in March 2020 to the present day, the health authorities have recorded 33,000 positive cases with 743 deaths.
