The allegations of the “Hoogpool” platform crisis for investment and profits, which claimed the lives of dozens of Egyptian citizens, have not stopped since Thursday evening.

The Egyptian authorities have confirmed that there have been new victims due to the alleged platform, especially following citizens revealed new details of what happened with them.

Alleged fictional earnings

Young people from the governorate of Port Said, in northeastern Egypt, told Al-Arabiya.net that they knew and heard regarding a platform called “Hogpool” for investment and profits, which invests money under the pretext of investing and mining digital currencies such as bitcoin, with the possibility of achieving imaginary profits by sending money via phone or computer.

The victims revealed that they got acquainted with the platform in various ways, including advertisements and offers on Facebook, and luxurious parties that were organized by platform officials in Port Said, in which they presented their activities, methods of employing money, and their ability to make profits in digital currencies.

They added that they had met 3 platform officials, a young man and his fiancée claiming to be journalists, and another claiming to be a businessman.

They also mentioned that platform officials asked people to subscribe for regarding EGP 200 as the minimum amount, and at the time it was equivalent to $10, which can be contributed, in order to explore and obtain profits and ensure the integrity of the platform’s work and its seriousness in fulfilling its promises.

They emphasized that the profits were naturally regular and continuous, and even multiplied until platform officials began offering investment funds in large amounts and with quick profits in several days.

Because of those profits, people decided to invest their money in those funds, so they deposited in them everything they owned and all the previous profits they had made from the platform, until they were surprised by the closing of the application, the disappearance of platform officials, and the loss of their money, which exceeds millions.

Accordingly, those affected wrote official reports accusing those responsible for the platform of fraud and fraud.

Parliament is moving

Hisham Saeed Al-Jahel, a member of the House of Representatives, also submitted a briefing request to Parliament regarding the defrauding of Egyptians from the platform, calling for quick access to those responsible for it in Egypt, holding them accountable, and returning the depositors’ money.

He added that the platform has spread over the past months, which is classified as specializing in bitcoin mining and providing cloud mining services, and was able, through fake advertisements, to attract many citizens who fell victim to it.

He explained that the company was inviting through its publications users to obtain an amount ranging from 150 to 2000 pounds per day, and it claims to rent a number of machines and machines for bitcoin mining, and offers users to invest in such machines with a number of options for profits, as it provides options starting from an amount $10 to $50, with profitable benefits starting from 250 pounds per day and up to 300 pounds.

He added that this platform announced imaginary numbers that flirt with the dreams of the simple, by offering a daily gain of four dollars in return for depositing an amount of one thousand pounds, which led to hundreds of Egyptians falling victim to it, calling for opening an extensive investigation in this regard and tightening control over social networking sites to prevent infiltration of such people. The parliamentarian called for blocking such fake advertisements and platforms that do not have a license.

It is noteworthy that the past hours revealed widespread fraud and fraud that hundreds of Egyptians were subjected to from the platform, following claiming that anyone can profit from money via phone or computer.

The number of platform subscribers who bought machines from the application reached 600,000, while the daily profits that all subscribers received amounted to a huge amount of $600 million.

Al-Arabiya.net obtained an audio recording of one of the account supervisors on the platform, Amal, who was being searched for by hundreds of people to harm her on charges of fraud. In the audio recording, she confirmed that she and 150 others from her family had already been subjected to fraud by the company.

She added that 80 thousand pounds were seized from her, pointing out that she did not harm anyone and did not invite anyone to join this company, but she and her family members were also victims.

It is noteworthy that “Hoog Paul” appeared last August, and made available a website, on “Sooq Play Egypt”, and it has an Egyptian commercial registration license.
