Kannur: A forensic report has confirmed the presence of petrol inside the car in which a couple died following their car caught fire in Kannur. This is stated in the report submitted to the Thaliparam Sub Judicial Magistrate Court. The report was submitted following a month long investigation.
The incident happened last February 2. The accident occurred while he was going to Kannur district hospital with his pregnant wife. Reesha and Prajit, both natives of Kuttiatur, were in the car. Questions were raised widely following the accident as to what might have caused the car to catch fire. The cause of the fire was found to be short circuit.

But what was the reason for the increase in the intensity of the fire was checked. In this, the forensic report now says that there was presence of petrol inside the vehicle. But Reesha’s father responded that there was only water inside the car and no petrol.
After the accident, the forensic team found the presence of petrol in the car. If so, the family suspects that it was brought by someone. The family had already clarified this. According to the report, what was inside the bottle was petrol and not water. However, no petrol was kept in the car. Petrol had been pumped from Mahi the day before the accident. Therefore, the family states that there is no need to store petrol.
