Hope is defeated; Australia in the final; A life and death struggle for India

After winning the first two Test matches once morest Australia, India faced an unexpected setback in the third Test in Indore. Australia has reached the final of the World Test Championship following defeating India by nine wickets.

After suffering shock defeats in the first two Tests, Australia registered a resounding nine-wicket victory in Indore. Travis Head’s unbeaten innings of 49 runs led the Aussies to victory.

India will have to wait until the final Test in Ahmedabad from March 9 to secure the final. Earlier, South Africa were out of the final following India won the first two Tests once morest Australia.

With Australia reaching the final, now India and Sri Lanka will face each other for the final berth.

Meanwhile, India batted first in the match and were bowled out for 109 runs in the first innings. Kooneman who took five wickets destroyed India.

In reply, Australia scored 197 runs. Usman Khawaja scored 60 runs for Aussies. India played with a first innings deficit of 88 runs and faltered in the second innings as well.

Nathan Lyon’s eight-wicket performance broke India in the second innings. A poor performance by the batsmen also contributed to India’s downfall. Virat Kohli is India’s top scorer with 22 runs.

Rohit Sharma (12), Shubman Gill (21), Cheteshwar Pujara (1), Ravindra Jadeja (4), Shreyas Iyer (0), K.S. Bharat (17) and let down India with poor form. Axar Patel (12*) remained unbeaten.

The final Test is crucial for India. The World Test Championship final will be held at the Oval in England from June 7 to 11.
