It’s hard to wait even a day or two when you have a toothache. So if your dentist is not available quickly or you simply don’t have one, you can go to the dental emergencies of the CHU de Nice.
Its odontology center took up residence in January on the boulevard de Riquier, in the building formerly occupied by the social regime of the independents.
The official inauguration took place on Tuesday February 28 in the presence of the mayor of Nice and chairman of the supervisory board of the CHU Christian Estrosi, the director general of the CHU Rodolphe Bourret and the president of the CME (Medical Commission of establishment) Pr Jacques Levrault.
The opportunity for Pr Claire Lassauzay, head of the odontology department, to recall that “The establishment is open to everyone and for all dental care, from emergency to specialized care. Patients are seen Monday to Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. Emergencies are taken care of on Saturday by the dental practices in town and on Sundays in the emergency room of Pasteur 2.”
State-of-the-art imaging
Thus, anyone who needs it can be treated by professionals and students. Just make an appointment at the switchboard (04.92.03.32.70). Children can also be cared for, a floor is dedicated to them.
During an initial consultation, an assessment is drawn up to estimate the actions to be taken. The teams have a digital imaging system on site (digital X-rays, 3D impressions, etc.) but also tools to make prostheses.
“The CHU’s oral medicine institute treats all pathologies, including referral activities, indicates Pr Lassauzay. The care offer is complete: implantology, cosmetology, endodontics (care under a microscope), orthodontics, etc.
The establishment is also equipped and the staff trained to receive patients with physical and mental disabilities. This is particularly important because very often they face difficulties in accessing care.
