Yesterday there was a conversation in the Seen in which the FPF He exposed his position regarding the battle for TV rights that is taking place in Peruvian soccer. In dialogue with various media, the managers expressed their concern regarding how this fight has escalated. And from what is understood, today they only see one way out.

They explain that they take the position that can be seen as arrogant for defending the contract with 1190 Sports, and refer to the postponement of three matches from the last weekend (Binacional-Cristal, Alianza Lima-Vallejo and Melgar-Boys). Why did you decide to postpone? The answer to the question of Total Sport was clear. There is a risk that if the agreement with 1190 Sports If they have 15 teams on their grid, and Alianza Lima among them, they can terminate the contract and thus leave 10 teams without TV. Thus, the championship might come to an end due to the lack of income.

What is the point of FPF is that the opposition clubs understand that the corporate model is what allows the growth of Peruvian soccer in general in the long term, when more signals are added to the transmission, including Movistar, which today dominates 60% of pay television in Peru.

One of the alternative solutions proposed in the fan’s imagination is to open the grid to the two operators, 1190 Sports and Gol Perú, but within the FPF They assure that this format is not profitable and that today it would not help the growth of Peruvian soccer as they have planned.

The gap that exists between the clubs that earn the most and the least is 7 to 1, and his plan is to reduce it to 3.5 so that the small clubs have a chance to be more competitive. For this, the profitability model offered by this new model is for the clubs themselves to decide how to distribute the profits that are generated. As is known, 70% of the profits generated will be distributed to the clubs. This money is in a trust made up of five club members and two from 1190 Sports and they will determine how to distribute the proceeds.

Changes

On the other hand, the changes to the regulations that the FPF plans to make in its board of directors tomorrow, Friday, have been questioned. DT was able to learn that detailing the sanctions for clubs that do not allow their matches to be broadcast is being considered. What will they be? They are not yet known, but they aim to make it clear that not guaranteeing the work of 1190 Sports should be penalized.

This weekend Cusco FC and Cienciano have home games, so they will be the first clubs that must react to the changes that occur.

It is known that the position of both sides, both the FPF and the clubs, is not to give up. The institutions defend their renewals with the Consortium, while the FPF relies on the fact that they own the rights and, therefore, everyone must be part of the associative plan that they propose.
