Lance Stroll to compete in the Bahrain Grand Prix

The Aston Martin team has confirmed Lance Stroll’s participation in the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Canadian racer claims that he has fully recovered from his injury.

Lance Stroll: “It’s a shame to miss three days of pre-season testing in Bahrain – I was upset regarding this fact. However, given the wrist injury, my team and I felt it was better to focus on getting back to health so that I would be fully prepared for the weekend and the long season.

The injury was the result of an accident – I fell off my bike, driving a wheel into a pit. Luckily, I didn’t get too badly injured, so a small successful operation on my right wrist quickly resolved the problem. I have since worked with the team to make sure I am fully fit for the upcoming weekend.

I thank everyone in Formula 1 for their support and confidentiality, and the team for helping me recover. Now I’m ready to get back to work and fully concentrate on the race weekend – I’m looking forward to it.

Felipe Drugovic and Stoffel Vandorn will remain with the team in Bahrain as reserve riders.
