Blackout: the city of Córdoba is already normalized

The city of Córdoba already has electric power service, reported from the Municipality of Córdoba and from the Provincial Energy Company of Córdoba (Epec).

After the national blackout that occurred this Wednesday at 4:37 p.m., the Municipal Emergency Committee declared a “state of contingency” in the Capital.

According to reports from the municipality, efforts were concentrated on traffic regulation, mainly on the management of corners with traffic lights. After 9:30 p.m., the Secretary of Metropolitan Development, Gabriel Bermúdez, indicated that all these devices were already working.

All that remained was to regulate the synchronization, an issue that was calculated to be resolved by midnight.

Contingency

“We are in a state of contingency. The prospects are good. First, they authorized Epec to light the southern zone, then the center, and continued to the west and north,” explained Vice Mayor Daniel Passerini.

A meeting was held at the Police Headquarters between the mayor Martín Llaryora and the police leadership, in which it was sought that members of the Caminera collaborate with the ordering of traffic. But that situation was not necessary.

“The concern is road safety. There was no problem with the water supply, the hospitals already have electricity, the only thing missing is the Children’s. There are 40 inspectors from the Municipal Traffic Police working, which we hope to reinforce with personnel from the Highway Police,” said the city’s second authority.

In addition, 30 Civil Defense agents are working in eight vehicles. And the staff of the Department of High Risk Units (Duar) of the Cordoba Police rescued six people who had been trapped in elevators.

Passerini commented that they are monitoring with the Secretary of Urban Development how the public lighting has been responding, which was working around 9:30 p.m.
