April – out now!
This time, the actor adorns our baroque-opulently designed home game cover Tobias Moretti, which on 26.04. with the baroque ensemble wood sounds interweave music by Purcell and Dowland with texts by William Shakespeare in their program “My love is as a fever”. Hardly any poet of modern times has a similar cult status as William
Shakespeare (1564–1616), since then, hardly anyone else has had such a lasting influence on art. The secret may lie in the fact that Shakespeare was the first writer of modern times to invent unmistakable, individual personalities. Everything revolves around the wandering human being, whether he creates something or destroys something, whether he worships or murders: he always burns, and it’s always regarding love. This dramatic approach finds its counterpart in the music of the 16th and 17th centuries with works by Henry Purcell, John Dowland, John Blow and Thomas Preston, the Florian Hasenburger and Julia Moretti selected and arranged for this evening.
