Minister’s Spokesperson: Applying daylight savings time saves 10% of the total energy consumption

Ambassador confirmed Nader Saada spokesman for the Council of Ministers, said that the return of daylight savings time is due to the government’s efforts to obtain the greatest amount of energy rationalization, indicating that studies that have been conducted over the past period have proven that the application of daylight savings time saves 10% of the total consumption.

Ambassador Nader Saad added, during a telephone conversation on the “Tahrir Hall” program, with the journalist Azza Mostafa, broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that this is a percentage that will save a large amount of energy in light of the global circumstance the world is going through and a large rise in energy and petroleum prices, explaining that we We need these materials to operate power plants, and studies prove the abundance of this percentage, and this is a good abundance, and we need it in light of the great heights.

Ambassador Nader Saad indicated that we need any current abundance to relieve the pressure on the hard currency, as we import more than 100 million barrels of fuel annually, and the gas related to electricity generation is a local product, and in the end, if we succeed in providing a quantity that is destined for export abroad, it will achieve good abundance and reduce Pressure on hard currency and provides a good dollar resource.

And he continued: “40% of the countries of the world apply summer time, not only developing countries, and among the countries that implement summer time, the largest income countries on earth, including the United States of America and the European Union,” stressing that these countries apply summer time for the same purpose that Egypt applies.
