Zoff between RTL and Sky
Actually, Sky is still looking for a buyer for the rights to those four races that have to be shown on free TV in Germany according to the contract with Formula 1. Many fans hoped that there would be an agreement with RTL once more. But that seems a long way off.
The starting point: In an interview, Heiko Wasser fired a broadside towards Sky. The RTL commentator on ‘Sport Bild’: “Looking at Formula 1 on Sky is like watching a great love having sex with her new one. And then he’s really bad in bed.”
Sky expert Ralf Schumacher doesn’t let that sit on him. He now counters on Instagram: “Dear Heiko. With such comments one can only speak of regrettable! Didn’t know that you might increase like that. Just embarrassing.” Plus a thumbs down.
Hard to imagine that this might be the basis for a collaboration.

Mercedes realistic
Toto Wolff admits that the winter tests in Bahrain “didn’t go entirely smoothly” for Mercedes: “We had some reliability issues and struggled with the car set-up on the second day. […] Given how the season ended last year, our expectations were that we would probably have to catch up at the top. That seems to be the case so far, but we won’t know for sure until following this weekend.”

The Vettel comeback thing
It causes heated discussions that Sebastian Vettel might return to Formula 1 as a replacement for Lance Stroll from Saudi Arabia, or not. In any case, one does not believe in it: “He has finished with it. He has won four Formula 1 world championships. More is not possible because he would not win seven titles because of his age,” says former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone in one Interview with the ‘dpa’.
Ecclestone describes himself as a “friend” of Vettel. By retiring at the end of 2022, Vettel “did exactly “the right thing. He’s a world champion and has to compete with world champions. If he mightn’t make sure he was in the right car that might win the world championship, he would have wasted another year of his life. “

Magnussen: Is Haas that good?
The star guest at the regulars’ table on Tuesday was Alexander Bodo, CEO of PACETEQ and one of the world’s leading experts in motorsport data analysis. His customers also include several Formula 1 teams. By the way, he doesn’t reveal exactly which ones. And according to Alex Bodo’s analysis, in the worst case Haas runs the risk of being lapped in the race in Bahrain.
Kevin Magnussen has a slightly more optimistic view of the world. He says: “We can also drive the lap times that the fastest drove. If it’s the maximum that they have shown, we know that we might have driven faster. But maybe the others can do it too.”
According to Bodo, yes. He believes Haas will find himself back in midfield. If things go well. Not too rosy prospects for Nico Hulkenberg.
