The depot supplies the Delhaize stores with fresh produce, i.e. vegetables, fruit, charcuterie, etc.
According to Delhaize spokesman Roel Dekelver, the discontent is sparked by a discussion on a new organization of work. A social consultation is underway and the management hopes that work will resume quickly.
The strike does not have any consequences for customers for the moment, adds Mr. Dekelver. Trucks still supplied the stores on Tuesday evening. Work stopped overnight.
