The Swiss snowboardcross delegation was disappointing at the World Championships in Bakuriani. Only the Saint-Galloise Lara Casanova passed a knockout round. After finishing last in her semi-final following a touchdown, she also finished last in the small final (8th).
With Sophie Hediger, Thomas Abegglen and Kalle Koblet, 3 Swiss qualified for the first knockout round, which was also the last.
The most infuriating elimination in the round of 16 was undoubtedly that of Koblet, who held 2nd place for a long time before being beaten by 4 hundredths on the line by the American Nick Baumgartner. The Zurich native had celebrated his best result in Georgia – 2nd – in the World Cup, in March 2021.
Austrian Jakob Dusek and Czech Eva Adamczykova secured the titles.
