Felix Kilbertus is Pininfarina’s new Chief Creative Officer

TORINO, Italy, April 20 /PRNewswire/ Pininfarina appoints world-renowned automotive designer Felix Kilbertus as its new Chief Creative Officer. Felix will be the creative and strategic leader at group level on all aspects of design (mobility, product and experience design and architecture). Reporting directly to CEO Silvio Angori, he will oversee all Pininfarina design teams in their geographic areas (Italy, China, United States).

At Pininfarina, Felix will join a multicultural team of stylists and designers with rare and valuable skills. Together they will solidify the company’s global design leadership and focus on leading clients into the future of mobility, architecture and experiential design. Pininfarina’s action plan incorporates the future needs of society and its citizens, and focuses on the ongoing merging of physical and digital reality – the phygital nature of design evolution.

In his 20 year career in automotive design, Felix most recently held the role of Head of Exterior Design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in 2017, where he was responsible for the design development of the brand’s product range and led a team of creatives in Munich, Germany and Goodwood, United Kingdom, headed. Felix previously held senior design positions at Renault, Nissan, Fiat and Pininfarina, where he was senior designer from 2011 to 2014.

Born in Austria 44 years ago, his creative journey has taken him to France, Japan, Italy and Germany. He began his long and distinguished international career following completing his Masters in Transportation Design (Strate College, France) and Industrial Design (UAID, Austria). In 2003 he started as an exterior designer at Renault Design, where he worked in different studios until 2011, focusing on advanced design and production design. From 2008 to 2010 he worked on concepts for the Nissan and Infiniti brands as part of an exchange within the Renault-Nissan Alliance at the Nissan Global Design Center in Atsugi, Japan.

In 2011 he moved to the Pininfarina design center in Cambiano, Turin, as team leader for vehicle exterior design development. Among other things, he led the design process and exterior styling of the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupé concept model presented at Villa D’Este 2013. His design adventure continued at the FIAT Centro Stile in Turin with a new challenge: from 2014 to 2017, Felix was chief exterior designer responsible for developing the exterior design of Fiat brand passenger cars.

Effective April 17, 2023, Felix succeeds Kevin Rice, who left the company last December.
