Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the program for providing family planning services following childbirth and the occurrence of abortions has been implemented in 280 government hospitals affiliated to the Ministries of Health and Population and University Education in 20 governorates nationwide, adding that the implementation of the program has begun in a number of private hospitals as an experiment. For his part, Dr. Hossam Abbas, Head of the Population and Family Planning Sector, emphasized the availability of modern and diverse family planning methods, and the provision of a strategic stock of family planning methods ranging from 6 months to a year, according to the validity date of each method.
Abbas indicated that one million and 889 thousand and 729 women visited health units in all governorates of the Republic to obtain a method of family planning, including 204 thousand and 528 beneficiary visits for the first time, during the past month.
Abbas stated that 160 training courses were held for 2,727 members of the medical teams in various governorates on advice and services. family planning After giving birth in hospitals, entering data and creating reports and analyzes to identify the most important obstacles and challenges and work to overcome them, with the aim of raising the efficiency of performance in providing family planning services.
