Ingredients:
– 180 g white rice (1 cup)
– 400 g water (2 cups)
– 600 g non-dairy milk (3 cups)
– 100 g sugar (½ cup)
– cinnamon stick
– clove
– orange peel
– vanilla
– cinnamon to taste
Preparation
Heat over medium heat in a pot: water, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla essence, anise and orange peel. When the water boils add the rice and stir.
Lower the heat so that the mixture simmers gently for 10 minutes uncovered. Add the non-dairy milk and sugar. Stir and raise to medium heat until the mixture boils once more.
Lower the heat to low and stir constantly, taking care that the mixture does not stick to the pot. When the mixture is creamy, remove from heat and cool, put in the fridge. Serve in wells and decorate with cinnamon powder.
