Lhe covid parenthesis had put a brake on the revival of the night train, it now seems to be part of the past. In addition to the pleasure and comfort aspect, the ecological arguments make it a sure trend. But the deployment of a real night rail network still comes up once morest many obstacles. Today, from Brussels, only a night train to Vienna is actually available. Soon joined by a Brussels-Berlin in a few weeks (then probably Prague later). And, perhaps, in 2024, a Brussels-Barcelona. On the map of European night trains, that of Interrail for example, we can nevertheless now envisage real tours of Europe in “sleeping-car”: Brussels-Vienna-Bucharest-Zagreb-Milan-Barcelona-Madrid- Paris-Brussels or, further north, Brussels-Berlin (soon)-Copenhagen-Stockholm-Tallinn-Vilnius-Warsaw-Vienna-Brussels… There are many other possibilities.
