Quinton Jackson, l’ancien champion light heavyweight of the UFC, claims that some MMA fights are rigged.
With the emergence of opposition between personalities outside the world of combat sports, like Jake Paul, more and more fans are questioning the integrity of the results of MMA matches.
Recently, former UFC 205-pound champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson spoke regarding it. According to the American, PRIDE fights featuring wrestlers and boxers were rigged. “Rampage” also believes that this practice is common.
“I know there have been some rigged fights in MMA. Let’s say you and I are fighting and you say, ‘Listen Rampage, I’m going to give you 10 million dollars to lay down. But it has to be realistic. »said Jackson during an interview with Chris Van Vliet.
“Actually, I’m really going to hit you. But in the end, you know you’re gonna touch me, I know you’re gonna touch me and you’re gonna knock me out. So I just have to say to myself, ‘I’m going to get hit and I’m going to fall’. Boxers do this all the time. »
While it’s obviously possible some fights, even within the biggest organizations on the planet, were rigged, Quinton Jackson offers no proof. However, recent controversial results, including one related to UFC coach James Krause’s potential betting rigging, may support “Rampage’s” claims.
Jackson hasn’t fought since December 2019, when he suffered a TKO loss to Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator 237 in Japan. He holds notable wins over Lyoto Machida, Chuck Liddell, Kevin Randleman, Keith Jardine and Wanderlei Silva. During his career, he has amassed an 8-5 record in the UFC, 12-5 in Pride and 5-3 in Bellator.
