A member of the National Gendarmerie (GNA) neutralized a man whom he accused of trying to rob him this Sunday with a bullet to the chest. It happened in the Buenos Aires Quilmes party.
The investigators did not take any temper with the officer considering that it was an act of “legitimate defense,” police and judicial sources reported.
It all started when staff from the 3rd Police Station. de Quilmes found a man, identified as Sergio Emmanuel Pacheco (36), without vital signs lying on the ground on Luis Agote street between Martín Rodríguez and O’Higgins streets in said town in the south of the Buenos Aires suburbs.

According to sources, the deceased died from a bullet impact in the thorax, with an entry and exit hole.
Given this circumstance, the prosecutor Karina Gallo, in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 4 of Quilmes, intervened, who through the records of the municipal security cameras determined that Pacheco had robbed a gendarme in the town of San Francisco Solano.
Such an event had occurred in the hours prior to the discovery of the body, where the deceased tried to steal his belongings from the officer while he was driving his Volkswagen Bora car.
In this context, the gendarme resisted the robbery and shot the assailant with his service weapon, who escaped injured from the scene aboard the Volkswagen Bora. Minutes later, the offender in the vehicle, which managed to park in the vicinity of a dump.
In turn, the sources indicated that the uniformed man serves in the Puerta de Hierro neighborhood, La Matanza district.
On the other hand, the spokespersons indicated that the deceased was imprisoned in the Florencio Varela Penitentiary Unit 23 until October 2021 for an “aggravated robbery” and that he had a record in a case for “resisting authority.”
Meanwhile, prosecutor Gallo did not take any temper towards the gendarme, considering that he acted in “legitimate defense” and continues to investigate whether Pacheco acted together with more accomplices.
