According to initial information, at nearly 4 pm on February 26, smoke and fire rose from the landfill in the alley near the address 738 QL1 (Binh Hung Hoa B ward, Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City).

Detecting smoke and fire, people in the area shouted to mobilize fire extinguishers, pulled water hoses to put them out, but failed. The fire rose higher and higher, spreading to a truck parked nearby with burning smoke.

Fire and Rescue Police and Binh Tan District Public Security Department dispatched vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene. Authorities promptly extinguished the fire before the fire spread to the area where dozens of welding cylinders were located nearby.
