This Sunday morning, the Antwerp police organized a check at the exit of the “La Villa” nightclub. As he approached the police, a motorist found nothing better than to flee at full speed through the streets.
The car sped towards the Strasbourg bridge, while running a red light. It wasn’t until one of the vehicle’s tires exploded that the chase ended. The driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into a guardrail.
“As expected, the driver tested positive for both alcohol and drugs,” Willem Migom of the Antwerp police told HLN. He adds that “this gave the police no less than three reasons to immediately revoke his driver’s license: drink-driving, drug-driving and a third-degree traffic violation”.
