This short training allows to ensure an assessment in a situation of distress and to be able to transmit the adapted gestures.
From the age of 10, it is possible to learn how to react in the event of obstruction of the airways, profuse bleeding, cardiac arrest, discomfort, trauma to the skin (burn or cut), loss of consciousness or even bone trauma.
Where to train
In Nice and Antibes, the Red Cross offers many training courses including a free one-hour initiation (Gestures that save) and the more detailed PCS1.
It is possible to be trained in eight hours, face-to-face or in hybrid (remote for theory and face-to-face for practice).
The price varies between 40 and 60 euros depending on the situation of the participant. Proceeds are donated to the Red Cross.
In Nice and Cannes, AMS06, Mediterranean First Aid Association 06, provides face-to-face training open to all, for 70 euros. Under certain conditions, the civic service and the local mission can finance up to 65 euros.
Registrations are to be made on the Red Cross or AMS 06 websites.
Review gestures on your phone
Rather aimed at people who have already had training, the Red Cross has created “The App that saves”. This application allows a theoretical reminder of the actions to be carried out in a situation of distress.
Finally, SauveQuiVeut.fr is an online game created by firefighters. It tests knowledge with examples of situations to remember the right gestures, to adopt the right attitude and to have precise explanations.
