The commune of Fameck in the department of Moselle, France, decided to deprogram a play co-written by Pierre Palmade following the accident he caused under the influence of drugs and following being the subject of an investigation into the possession of child pornography, the mayor said on Friday.
The decision to deprogram the cult piece “They love each other !”with Michèle Laroque and written in 1996 with Muriel Robin, was taken unanimously by the municipal office, explained Michel Liebgott.

In an interview given to our colleagues from BFMTV, the mayor of Fameck assures that “it might be controversial, including within our population”. He specifies that an campaign was made around this piece. “We thought that during the evening, it might be difficult for the spectators to applaud when we presented the author of the play at the end,” said the mayor.
He continues: “We have here and there people who are involved in the sale of narcotics. We cannot have two speeches: we cannot fight them on the ground and on the other side, indirectly, make publicity to someone who has behaved in a tortious manner”.
While in police custody, Pierre Palmade admitted having used cocaine before driving on the day of the accident. He had tested positive following the events.
