Preventive detention for Venezuelans who assaulted an elderly woman

The Prosecutor’s Office formalized the defendants before the Guarantee Court of that city, for the events that occurred in Balmaceda Square when.

As reported by Carabineros, the victims were threatened with a firearm and had their belongings stolen.

The individuals fled in a vehicle being pursued by Carabineros, who detained them near Osorno and recovered the stolen goods.

The deputy prosecutor of Rio Bueno, Rodrigo San Martín, confirmed that the people were in preventive detention following the court’s decision.

“Four Venezuelan people were formalized for robbery with intimidation,” explained the prosecutor, speaking of the crime carried out in Río Bueno.

“After the debate and with the iron defense opposition, which questioned the crime formalized as caution, the judge agreed to preventive detention,” he added.


For the court, the defendants pose a danger to the safety of the victims and to flight, in addition to being in an irregular situation in the country.
