“The competition will designate six winners in six categories: Best Male streamer, Best Female streamer, Best Esport team, Best Esport player, Best content creator and Best caster/Host.”, said Yassir Bachour, Managing Director of MapLab at L’ Opinion.
Bachour also clarified that Gaming in Morocco is experiencing a certain boom, thanks to the organization of this event annually. “We still see that Gaming in Morocco is still perceived by a large part as a hobby activity, while it is a sector that might generate significant financial benefits”. According to the general manager of MapLab, Gaming and Esport might generate financial benefits in Morocco three times greater than those of cinema and theater together.
“We are committed to democratizing this sector, and making it more popular in Morocco. This can only be achieved through close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Communication as well as the Royal Moroccan Federation of electronic games,” specified our interlocutor, noting that the technical aspect is essential in LGAMING, indeed the company HP will be the hardware partner of the event.
It should be noted that LGAMING AWARDS, the first of its kind in Morocco and the MEA region, is an opportunity for Gamers and Moroccan content creators to showcase their talent and develop their careers. It is also an opportunity for Morocco to position itself on the international Gaming/Esports scene, a market which today weighs more than 200 billion dollars.
