Over 3,000 demonstrators take to the streets to protest against the FPÖ ball

Offensive once morest the right: “We don’t give right-wing agitators a millimeter!”

Vienna (OTS) In 2023, thousands once more took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the age-old spectacle in the Vienna Hofburg, the German-national FPÖ Academic Ball. “We are pleased that even following the Corona breaks, so many people took to the streets once morest the Akademikerball. This makes the protests once morest the fraternity ball one of the most consistent protests in Austria’s history,” says Käthe Lichter, spokeswoman for the offensive once morest the right (OGR).

Lights also explains why it is urgently necessary in 2023 to stand up once morest the FPÖ and their Burschi ball. “The FPÖ often tries to present itself as purified to the outside world. But the close ties between this party and the extreme right-wing scene are obvious. Numerous MPs of the FPÖ are members of German national fraternities and have connections to neo-fascist groups. Especially in times of the pandemic, their overlap is once once more more than clear. Right-wing extremist groups are trying to use the social uncertainty to make anti-Semitic conspiracy myths socially acceptable once more. The FPÖ supports this propaganda and refuses to distance itself from anti-Semitic codes at its rallies.

Finally, the offensive once morest the right would like to thank all anti-fascists for their commitment: “Today we showed once once more that we will not accept it if the German national right-wing waltz is to be shot once more in the Hofburg – we will not give up!‘ concludes Lichter.
