Nearly two weeks following the road accident, the driver of the car hit by that of Pierre Palmade and his child are still hospitalized.
13 days following the tragedy, Devrim still cannot leave his room at the Necker hospital in Paris. The 6-year-old child was in the back of the car hit by that of Pierre Palmade. If his days are no longer in danger, he will keep the consequences of the accident all his life.
Six-year-old still hospitalized
Particularly affected in the jaw, he has difficulty speaking, drinking and eating. Ylmaz, his uncle, visited him on Tuesday. “He moves his arms, his feet. He has a corset so he doesn’t move too much,” he said. “I was talking to him, he never answered my questions,” Ylmaz testified, “he is focused on one point and does not move his head. Even his eyes, he is not with me.”
“When I saw him in this state, it hurt my heart too much. It’s not him,” said the child’s uncle.
The driver operated six times
Yuksel, the driver of the car and Devrim’s father, was admitted to intensive care at Beaujon hospital in Clichy. He suffers from multiple fractures, in particular in the left leg and the right arm and has been operated on six times, without certainty that he will be able to walk once more one day.
“In his mouth there are a lot of cables,” Ylmaz described, “He is wearing a mask. I touched his feet, both of his feet are cold. The left foot is all broken, the right foot is very cold.” .
“When I saw them both in this state, I was so sad. It broke my heart,” Ylmaz testified.
Additional expertise on the baby’s body
Yuksel’s sister-in-law was also in the vehicle. Seven months pregnant at the time of the accident, she was taken to hospital by helicopter. Rescuers and medical personnel tried to save the baby, but were unsuccessful. The first autopsy did not make it possible to decide whether the baby was breathing before the emergency cesarean section, the justice requested additional expertise.
Pierre Palmade, indicted for manslaughter and involuntary injuries, is currently under house arrest in an addiction service at the Paul Brousse hospital in Villejuif. The appeal issued by the prosecution once morest the comedian’s house arrest will be heard on Friday morning.
“We trust justice. She will put him in prison and punish him. That’s all I want,” Ylmaz said. “if justice does not put Pierre Palmade in prison, that means that we are zero for French justice”
