Today, Thursday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where they discussed the latest developments in the Ukrainian arena and the developments of the current crisis.
Zelinsky praises Egypt’s efforts to calm the situation
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the President was informed, during the call from his Ukrainian counterpart, of the latest developments on the field and humanitarian levels in Ukraine, where the President affirmed Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at calming the situation and advancing efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict, in an appropriate manner. It stops bloodshed and paves the way towards peace, noting Egypt’s readiness to continue making the necessary efforts in this regard, which the Ukrainian President appreciated, noting Egypt’s influential role at the regional and international levels.
The Spokesman added that the call also touched on the issue of food security, in light of the great suffering of many peoples of the world from the food crisis, especially in Africa, where the ongoing efforts to extend the grain export agreement were discussed, and the President stressed the utmost importance of the stability of global food markets, which was agreed upon. With him, the Ukrainian President presented his country’s efforts in this regard with the aim of ensuring global food security.
