victim’s husband taken into custody

The husband of the woman found dismembered last week in the Parisian park of Buttes-Chaumont, in the 19e arrondissement, was placed in police custody on Thursday February 23, Agence France-Presse learned from a source close to the investigation, confirming information from Parisian. The victim is a 46-year-old mother residing in Seine-Saint-Denis, whose husband had reported the disappearance on February 6.

A plastic bag containing the pelvis and thighs of this woman, subsequently identified through the analysis of fingerprints, had been discovered under a pile of green waste in Buttes-Chaumont by municipal parks and gardens officials on 13 February in the early followingnoon. The husband is heard in the context of a judicial investigation opened on Friday for assassination, attack on the integrity of a corpse and concealment of a corpse.
