Sherine Reda, her only daughter, Nour Amr Diab, explained, “Autistic,” noting that she has Asperger syndrome: “She is very smart, but she has social awkwardness. with her”.
And she continued, “Sometimes she says to me, ‘I don’t know if you are joking or not, because I am a joking person by nature, but with her I have to be very clear, and my message to her is that I love you to death. You will always feel my presence around you, because I will come chasing you.'”
What is Asperger’s syndrome?
Asperger syndrome is defined as a disease that includes autism spectrum disorder, which begins in childhood, and causes the child to suffer from social problems, whether at home, school or work, and prefers isolation most of the time, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Symptoms of Asperger’s Syndrome
Refusing to be hugged or touched.
– Children with the disease prefer to sit and play alone most of the time, and withdraw into their own world.
Not responding to people when someone calls him, and not interacting with those around him.
Poor eye contact, delayed speech, and inability to pronounce words and sentences.
– Talking in a very high tone of voice, and sometimes it is possible to speak in a tone like a robot.
Repeating literal words or phrases more than once.
– The inability of sick children to express their emotions or feelings.
Asperger’s behavior
Ghada Al-Husseini, a speech and behavior modification specialist, tells “Hun” that there are some parents whose children suffer from Asperger’s syndrome, without knowing them, and it is believed that they suffer from autism, because there are similarities in some characteristics, explaining that the syndrome is one of the types of autism, and it differs in Some characteristics of normal autism, and similar in some characteristics, which are more prevalent in males than females
She adds: “A patient with Asperger’s does not like to communicate visually with others, that is, he escapes with his eyes from those around him. He also suffers at the level of social development, which takes the form of behavior among groups and people, which makes him behave more childish than his normal age.”
“The Asperger child suffers from some repetitive stereotypical behaviors,” a phrase through which the speech-language specialist continued, following up: “He prefers to play with things routinely and behave in some way, with some limited interests. He does not prefer change, and he has problems with focus and attention in all its forms and types.” .
