Seven years ago they have been demanding an extension of Jardín 103 in the Chacramonte neighborhood in Roca

Fathers, mothers and teachers of Garden No. 103 in the Chacramonte de Roca neighborhood, sharpen a claim for building expansion that has been going on for seven years. The number of children enrolled in the initial level increases every year and they no longer have space to carry out their school activities. “We put together a room with cabinets,” said Claudia Olís, director of the institution.

The 2023 calendar announces that, if there is no teacher strike, the start of classes would be on February 27. However, In some Roca establishments, concrete responses are awaited by the Provincial Government regarding spare parts, extensions or maintenance tasks.

This morning RÍO NEGRO newspaper spoke with the director of Jardín 103 in the Chacramonte neighborhood. Claudia Olís, told when the claim was created and how they have dealt with the lack of space during these years.

«We began to raise notes to those who corresponded in the year 2017. Little by little they were responding to some conditioning requests such as the perimeter fence, heater protectors but the lack of space continues“, Olís said and stressed that throughout last year they were without a perimeter fence.

The request for expansion and conditioning of the institution began as a result of the increase in enrollment that occurred in Garden 103. Initially, the establishment had two rooms but later an additional position was created. “Since there was no room because they did not build another room, we began to build walls with the cabinets to divide the space”said the director.

The lack of space has repercussions in the daily life of children, since They also do not have a proper bathroom and they must use the teachers’ bathroom, which is the size of an adult.. “We put a platform so that they can get on it,” he explained that the elements for Physical Education classes are also deposited in that place and cleaning elements are stored.

Lack of space for childhoods in inclusion

Currently, they have an enrollment of 55 students per shift throughout the Garden. It should be noted that the capacity is 40 and “having children in the Inclusion Project reduces the enrollment”Claudia pointed out.

«The entire school trajectory of the childhoods of the inclusion project are attended by the kindergarten, special school and the ETAP team. In turn, they have a teacher who comes once or three times a week,” he explained.

The precariousness of the bathroom, in these cases, is reflected in the changing table, which is not suitable for children since the element is made up of a mat.

Poor plans for expansion

With fathers, mothers and teachers organized in the claim, a few days ago a meeting was held where the supervisor Silvana Gomez, the delegate Flavia Curuchet and Unter were summoned. “That same day, staff from the company that tendered approached. They came with a floor plan but it was not what had been agreed upon when we agreed on the extension»Claudia assured. She added that only the supervisor attended the meeting.

For his part, he explained that The agreement had established that the expansion be carried out on the entire left side of the institution, including the room and address.

The surprise was when looking at the plan, it was indicated that the construction would be carried out in the back of the institution. “The architect came and they do not give the square meters,” he commented and indicated that in turn, in the place they want to intervene there is a well and also, they should invade the territory of the primary school.

reduced activities

In addition to the building problems that interfere with the development of student activities, teachers also suffer from a shortage when teaching. “Those who suffer the most are the physical education and music teachers,” he said. The noise pollution that exists does not allow the classes to be appropriate to the subject and in the case of gymnastics, sometimes the weather conditions mean that we have to rotate the rooms so that they can use the mini SUM.

At the end of 2022 families made a claim note. Parents cannot enjoy the initial stage of their children because there is no space for them to enter and share activities.

“Parents leave their children and pick them up at the entrance door. They never enter the institution. We cannot do activities with the family, and on the other hand, we have to transfer school events to other spaces»he explained.

Finally, the director regretted that they have been in the same situation for seven years and commented on what the feeling is in this coming year. “I don’t know how we’re going to start. We are very worn out, tired and angry with this situation because we feel that they are not listening to our claim.”concluded Claudia Olís, director of Garden 103 in the Chacramonte de Roca neighborhood.
