Seizing a batch of “terrible” Brixton motorcycles suspected of origin fraud, smuggled into Vietnam

The General Department of Customs said that this agency has just temporarily seized a batch of Brixton brand motorbikes worth regarding 3 billion VND at Nam Hai port (Hai Phong).

Specifically, on February 20, the Anti-Smuggling Control Team in the North, Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department, General Department of Customs, chaired and coordinated with Hai Phong port area 3 Customs Branch. , Customs Control Team, Hai Phong Customs Department checked 1 container of goods imported from Taiwan (China) with suspicion of origin fraud.

Accordingly, on the package of the shipment, there is no origin information, no information regarding the importer or exporter. The customs office said that the shipment arrived at Nam Hai port (Hai Phong) on ​​October 23, 2022, the bill of lading showed 52 units, motorcycles (ie 52 motorbikes). The search results showed that there were 52 Brixton branded motorcycles in the container.

Notably, Brixton Motorcycle is a motorcycle brand distributed by KSR Group (Austria) but the above shipment was exported from Taiwan (China). The market value of these Austrian-branded cars in Vietnam ranges from 45 to nearly 60 million VND/unit.

The case is being further verified and clarified by the Customs.

According to research, Brixton Motorcycle is a new motorcycle brand from the UK, distributed by KSR Group (Austria), which is distributing many types of vehicles to the European market such as: Benelli, CFMoto, Generic .. Brixton’s models are manufactured in China and distributed to other markets.

Brixton’s first model launched in Vietnam is the BX with a classic design, with three different versions: BX Classic, BX Scrambler and BX Café Racer. All three versions have two engine options 125cc and 150cc.
