A year following its launch on consoles and PC, Elden Ring from FromSoftware passes the bar of 20 million copies sold worldwide.
The Japanese studio FromSoftware had never before experienced such success with a license. Elder Ring does better than Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Armored Core, Bloodborne, Sekiro or Steel Battalion:
The open-world action-RPG set in a dark fantasy universe has been positively received by many fans since its release on February 25, 2022, and has sold over 20 million units worldwide to date. It has also received several awards, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has played this game and will continue to develop different ways for fans to enjoy the world of Elden Ring in the future.
Our heartfelt thanks for your support and companionship on this journey.#ELDENRING pic.twitter.com/S8eqiNk0Uv

According to the latest information, Elden Ring had sold 16.6 million units as of June 30, 2022, which means 3.4 million new copies have been sold. Fans are still waiting for the announcement of a DLC more ambitious than that dedicated to PvP to return to the kingdom of the Underworld. Finally, Bandai Namco is not done with transmedia for Elden Ring. After the primer The Overture of Elden Ring and the manga Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree, the lore of the license might develop via a light novel or even an animated series with the help of Sony and Aniplex.
