The tourism sector in Bahrain is reported to have grown well last year. An income of 150 crore dinars was received from this sector last year.
The tourism sector, which has been more affected by the Covid-19 crisis, has been able to achieve almost 90 percent of its pre-Covid income, according to officials. The government report in this regard also states that the positive interventions of the administration have helped in the return of the tourism sector. Last year, 99 lakh visitors from various countries came to Bahrain. In 2020, more than 19 lakh visitors and in 2021 more than 36 lakh visitors came to Bahrain. However, there was a three-fold increase in the number of visitors last year.
An increase was also recorded in the number of passengers via the King Fahd Causeway and Bahrain International Airport. More than 89 lakh visitors came through the causeway last year. Last year, the number of visitors through this route was 32 lakh. The report also stated that the number of people arriving through the new airport terminal has increased to more than 9 lakhs last year.
