S-Link should have been built long ago

I wonder why this important structure (S-Link) wasn’t done long ago. In fact, it should be given priority. It’s for our climate, for our environment. If it had been built 20 years ago, no one would question it now.
But at that time there were probably already people who prevented it and the high politicians hesitated, as unfortunately very often. The railway always belongs underground in densely built-up areas. Be it because of the noise, the faster progress or because of the optics.
Sure, the long wait before construction started made it very expensive. But it is short-sighted to say that the money can be used for supposedly more important things. Our children will have to pay a lot more for environmental damage that will cost far more than this building. It is therefore irresponsible to wait.
It is unacceptable to drive more than four hours from the city of Salzburg to Tamsweg, as Mr. Reinhold Weidinger described in a letter to the editor, and to use five different lines. Nobody gets on the public transport. As a visitor, I would also like to have fast connections from and into the city and thus leave the car at home.
