The well-known Japanese sports anchor, 47-year-old NHK anchor Hisaoka Funaoka, used to be known as the “sports broadcast ace” in the Japanese TV news circle, but on the 17th of this month, it was reported that he broke into the female anchor’s boudoir without permission, and someone called the police late that night , claiming that a “suspicious person” broke into a private house. Because a young female anchor lived in the building, Hisaoka Funaoka had a dispute with the male friend of the female anchor and fell from the third floor on the spot and was injured.
According to comprehensive Japanese media reports, Hisaoka Funaoka was born in Hokkaido, Japan, graduated from Waseda University, and joined NHK in 1999. His main job was to broadcast sports events. He participated in the broadcast of many important sports events including the Tokyo Olympics. Japanese media reports quoted the police as saying that Hisaoka Funaoka was on a business trip in Tokyo on the day of the incident, and following work, he ran to the home of the female anchor. In the middle of the night, someone reported the incident, and a “suspicious person” appeared in the building. At the time of the incident, Hisaoka Funaoka was in the public area on the third floor of the building, arguing with the female anchor’s male friend. Unexpectedly, he jumped directly from the third floor and died. He was hospitalized with multiple injuries and was arrested by the police following he was released from the hospital.
In this regard, NHK said: “It is very regrettable that the employee was arrested. After confirming the factual relationship, we will deal with it strictly.”
