Almost a year following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the UN General Assembly is meeting on Wednesday (9:00 p.m./CET) for a high-level debate. The meeting of the largest UN body at the UN headquarters in New York is likely to drag on until Thursday due to the large number of speakers.
A number of foreign ministers are expected – at the end of the day a resolution is to be adopted that, among other things, calls on Russia to withdraw and emphasizes Ukraine’s territorial integrity. A German speech is planned for Thursday. The UN Security Council will also deal with the war on Friday. High-ranking participants are also expected here.
Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin started the war on February 24, 2022.
