“U.S. imposes additional sanctions on over 200 individuals and organizations ahead of the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine”

A year ahead of the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. government plans to impose new sanctions on more than 200 individuals and independent entities in an attempt to tighten sanctions once morest Russia.

The Wall Street Journal reported that ″The new sanctions are part of a plan that includes an additional $460 million in military aid to Ukraine announced by the Joe Biden administration.

The new sanctions, which are expected to be released this week, are said to include several Russian governors, families of Russian government officials, and defense-related materials and technology companies.

Earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo mentioned the need for additional sanctions in a speech ahead of the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying that Russia is doing all it can to evade Western sanctions.
